First College is seeking a casual RN or LPN Instructor for our West Kelowna Campus who will support current and future growth of our Health Care Assistant Diploma Program and other related courses. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY
 
In consultation with the Senior Administrator, we are looking for an Instructor to join our team.  The RN or LPN Theory/Lab/Clinical Instructor is responsible for the successful delivery of the HCA Diploma Program and other related courses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Current full registration with the CRNBC or CLPNBC
Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (i.e. completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent education or previous teaching experience with satisfactory references or positive performance evaluations and student course evaluations)
Two or more years of full-time nursing experience (1 year = 1400 hours) with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system, the roles and responsibilities of health care team members and current policies and procedures within residential and community care settings.
Nursing work experience to include, experience working with older adults with complex health needs
Experience or orientation in home support and multi-level /complex care
Preference given to applicants with a university degree in a health related area e.g. nursing/health administration
Preference given to applicants with previous experience in designing and developing training curriculum
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead, supervise and evaluate students
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work within competing deadlines/priorities
Capability to learn new techniques and methods including digital media
Excellent problem solving skills and solution focused thinking skills
Position may involve evenings and weekends and use of a vehicle.

INSTRUCTORS - BOOKKEEPING

First College is looking for instructors to teach all or various modules of the Certificate in Bookkeeping program in Kelowna.

The Certificate in Bookkeeping program provides students with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping and develop practical skills.

Instructors are responsible for preparing lesson plans, leading interactive lectures, fostering interaction among students, as well as preparing, administering, and grading assignments and examinations, and being available to provide students with additional resources and support.

Desired Qualifications and Skill Set:

  • - Fluency in English
  • - Bachelor’s degree and Certificate in Bookkeeping
  • - 3 years of work experience in the Bookkeeping industry
  • - 2 years of teaching experience
  • - Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with Quickbooks and Sage 50 software
  • - Exceptional communicator (both verbal and written)
  • - Skilled in planning, organizing, delivering, and evaluating specific instructional content
  • - Confident, engaging, enthusiastic, and dynamic presenter
  • - Passionate about fostering relationships with students (an asset)
